Wonder Man – Season 1 Episode 2

Published: Feb 06 2026

In the opening of Wonder Man's second episode, Trevor Slattery's return to Hollywood is revisited through a flashback. At the airport, Trevor is apprehended by the FBI due to his previous involvement in the murder of an actor on a film set. Trevor insists that he was merely acting as a terrorist character and had no part in the actual incident. The FBI agent counters that since Trevor fled prison before serving his full sentence, he will have to work with them to trap and capture a dangerous man, Simon Williams. Trevor agrees to cooperate with the FBI and sets up an audition trap to befriend Simon and lure him in.

The episode shifts to the present, where Janelle discovers that Simon has accessed her computer to book himself for the audition. She informs him that Ruth contacted her and requests a video of Simon playing a specific character for Ruth to consider him for the role. Simon begins filming himself as he goes through the character and uses a camcorder to record the entire scene. He watches the footage before sending it to Janelle, but stumbles upon a video of Vivian helping him tape himself for another audition from their past together.

Seeing the video makes Simon furious, and his body starts emitting energy that causes a loud blast. At the same time, FBI agent P. Cleary gives Trevor a device that will allow him access to Simon's computer. Trevor is asked to place the device on Simon's laptop, claiming that the Department of Damage Control (DODC) is trying to contain Simon at the earliest and asks him to hurry.

Just then, Simon texts Trevor seeking his help for an audition. Trevor waits for a dramatic amount of time before responding to Simon's text and going to see him. Simon meets Trevor outside his apartment complex, where the former claims that he's unable to concentrate on his character in his own apartment. Simon takes Trevor to a local self-tape studio where they rent a room to use. Trevor informs Cleary that he was unable to go to Simon's apartment. In the self-taping room, Simon explains his character to Trevor, who plans on reading the other character's lines for him.

The studio regulations restricted Trevor from assisting Simon, and he couldn't maintain his character during filming either. Trevor escorted Simon to his luxurious hotel room for the filming. The two men engaged in a heartfelt conversation about their love for the art, with Trevor sharing anecdotes from his years of acting.

Simon attempted to commence filming, but the incessant loud music from his neighbor kept disrupting the actors. Simon questioned where else he could tape the video for Ruth. Trevor suggested visiting his former friend Joe Pantoliano's house.

During the drive, Trevor revealed how Joe had betrayed him by having his role cut in a show they were working on together. At Joe's house, Simon initially flattered the veteran actor's luxurious mansion. Joe boasted about his wealth and accomplishments while putting Trevor down. Janelle persistently bothered Simon to get the tape to her. Simon noticed how Joe kept belittling Trevor and stood up for his friend. The two men left Joe's house and searched for another location to film the tape.

As soon as they departed, Joe called his agent inquiring why he wasn't considered for the Von Kovak film. Meanwhile, Simon took Trevor to his own apartment. He warned Trevor about the mess in his house. Simon decided to follow Trevor's advice to read between the lines and filmed the tape.

Trevor and Simon reviewed the tape before sending it to Janelle, who shared it with Ruth. While Simon left the room to order food for both of them, Trevor placed the ring on Simon's computer that would grant Cleary access to his device. He noticed a sizable star-shaped dent on the wall behind Simon's couch from his fit of rage earlier that day.

The episode concluded with Trevor raising a toast to celebrate Simon, making no comment about the wall.
