As Episode 6 of "Would You Marry Me" unfolds, we find Woo-ju's mother on a mission to locate her feline friend, Elizabeth, who in reality belongs to Jenny. Woo-ju, oblivious to the true owner, had been tasked with delivering Elizabeth to her aunt's place at the Beaute Palace. This unplanned detour leads him to witness Me-ri and Woo-joo's near-kiss, prompting Me-ri to hastily hide. Woo-hu's relentless ringing at the door goes unheeded, and he eventually gives up, leaving the lovers in a state of unease.

Later, Me-ri shares her concerns with Woo-joo upon his return, and he advises her not to overthink it but to coordinate with her ex if possible. Me-ri firmly rejects this idea, stating her preference for being caught rather than compromising her principles.
Meanwhile, Jin-gyeong joins the running club and stumbles upon Sang-hyun. Unfortunately, one of the members faints during a run, and Jin-gyeong springs into action, displaying her doctorly instincts by performing CPR. However, a pervert takes advantage of the situation to capture videos and pictures of her chest. Sang-hyun swiftly intervenes, performing CPR himself and later confronts the pervert, deleting the incriminating evidence from his phone.
At work, Me-ri presents a new packaging design for the Myunsoondang collaboration with Beaute Palace, incorporating poems from a famous monk. Woo-joo commends her effort, acknowledging her hard work. On their way back to the office, Me-ri encounters Woo-ju after a three-year absence. He reveals his desire to reconcile, claiming he has come to his senses and realized Me-ri is the one for him. However, she refuses to welcome him back, surprised that he thought she would forgive him as always.
The following day, Myunsoondang sends out gift packages for Beaute Palace clients, only to find out that the monk whose poems they used is embroiled in a scandal. Forced to stop the delivery to retrieve the cards with the poems, the team struggles to reach some of the delivery men. Woo-joo leads the marketing team in tracking down these unreachable delivery men, with Me-ri by his side. During this ordeal, Me-ri saves Woo-joo from a dog and teases him by offering to carry her bag or even give her a ride to the office.
As the ride progressed, Woo-ju's call went unanswered, as Me-ri confessed to having already met with him. At Woo-ju's residence, his sister, with a heavy heart, informed him that she and their mother were departing for Japan. She sternly ordered him to cease all contact with Me-ri, revealing the events that transpired during Me-ri's mother's visit. Woo-ju, enraged, lashed out at his sister, convinced that Me-ri's anger was rooted in those events. He departed in search of her, reaching out to Me-ri's colleague for guidance on her whereabouts.
At Me-ri's office, Woo-joo, having reconsidered his previous stance, told Me-ri that he had been wrong about Woo-ju. Realizing now that Woo-ju hadn't deserved the house, he offered to assist Me-ri until the end. Grateful, Me-ri embraced him warmly, thanking him for always being there for her. As they were about to leave, Woo-ju followed them to Beaute Palace.
To avoid Sang-hyun, Woo-joo hung back, offering to help Me-ri install the bath curtain. However, an accidental turn of the tap resulted in him getting wet. Me-ri kindly helped him dry his clothes and hair before seeing him off. They agreed to meet for lunch the next day, with Woo-ju watching from the outside, his curiosity piqued.
When Me-ri emerged to dispose of the garbage, Woo-ju confronted her. She lied, claiming to be house-sitting and made it clear that their relationship was over. Woo-ju refused to give up, accusing her of cheating and forcefully entering her home to see how wealthy her new boyfriend was. Me-ri panicked and turned off the lights to hide the wedding photo of her and Woo-joo. She struggled to drag him out, causing him to slip and injure his arm.
At the hospital, Woo-ju exploited his minor wrist injury for all its worth. Insisting on Me-ri watching over him overnight due to his family's unavailability, he used this opportunity to woo her. Daring as he was, he even promised to forgive her for her brief affair with Woo-joo. It was exasperating! He truly was the most exasperating character in this tale.
Elsewhere in the sprawling corporate landscape, Pil-nyeon enlists Han-hu's aid in supporting Woo-joo, the company's heir apparent. As he exits Pil-nyeon's office, fate plays a cruel game when he collides with Mr Ko's widow, bearing financial documents she's discovered tucked away in her late husband's closet – the same ones that led to his demise. Han-gu, alerted by instinct, reaches out to his secretive American wife, warning her to tread carefully and dispose of any incriminating evidence that could draw unwanted attention. The revelation of his duplicity – not just a killer but a serial cheat – adds another layer of complexity to the already tangled web.
Woo-joo, meanwhile, brings Han-gu a cup of coffee, only for it to spill, revealing the incriminating documents. Woo-joo, oblivious to the gravity of the situation, brushes it off as an accident.
Meanwhile, Me-ri is preoccupied with her ex-lover's clingy presence, forgetting her lunch date with Woo-joo. When he calls, she apologizes, explaining that she's needed at a friend's side. Jin-gyeong, on the other hand, returns Sang-hyun's windbreaker, adds a token of gratitude for his heroic act of protecting her from an unwanted advance, and extends an invitation to join her for a drink. He curtly declines her offer.
Jin-gyeong, embarrassed by the rejection, turns to Woo-joo and invites him to lunch. He agrees to meet her at the hospital.
At the hospital, Woo-ju clings to Me-ri as if she were his lifeline. Woo-joo walks in just in time to see Me-ri assisting Woo-ju back to his room. He chastises her for not keeping him informed and goes on to help Woo-ju himself, practically dragging him back to his room. Later, Me-ri questions his sudden anger and Woo-joo admits candidly that he's jealous – he likes her and doesn't want to see her around other men, especially her ex. Me-ri is left stunned by the revelation.
