However, Hagemeyer informs him that implementing such changes is not feasible, explaining that the physics faculty is already delivering an exceptional educational experience to students. Nevertheless, Dr. Sturgis and Dr. Linkletter, each unaware of the other's intentions, approach Sheldon independently, eager to learn the new variant of string theory he has mastered overseas.

Frustrated and confused by this intricate new theory, the two scientists begin to wonder how they ever became the stuffy old professors they once mocked as young science students. Meanwhile, Sheldon turns to his beloved Meemaw for advice on how to teach old dogs new tricks. After several aborted phone conversations, she wisely suggests that Sturgis and Linkletter need patience and perseverance.

Inspired by this encouraging word of wisdom, the science teachers return to Sheldon's makeshift classroom with renewed determination. Gradually, they start to grasp the complexities of the new theory, finally making progress in their efforts to keep up with the brilliant young mind of Sheldon Cooper.

As Georgie and Mandy step through the door, Mary clutches Cece tighter, reluctantly surrendering the baby back to her parents. Later, she confides in George, admitting that she misses the joy of having a newborn in the house. George, alarmed, tries to quell any such aspirations in Mary's mind.

Later, George returns from a long day at work to find Mary surrounded by a sea of old scrapbooks, her eyes glazed over with nostalgia as she flips through pages filled with baby photos of their children. She hints wistfully that she wishes they could turn back the clock, insisting that while they shouldn't actively try for another child, if fate intervened, it would be a welcome surprise.

Mary's baby fever is the central theme of the latest episode, and George is beside himself with anxiety. Over drinks with Coach Wayne and Principal Tom, George pours out his heart, relaying Mary's comments. The men offer a cautionary tale, recalling a former colleague who had a late-in-life baby and was likened to a "zombie" ever since. The suggestion of a vasectomy is floated, and George initially recoils in horror.

But curiosity gets the better of him, and George finds himself sitting in a clinic, ready to take the plunge. A spot opens up unexpectedly when another patient bolts in fear, and George undergoes the procedure with a mixture of relief and trepidation. He calls Wayne for a ride home, who can't help but think his friend has lost his mind. Wayne asks what Mary will say, but George insists he'll keep the secret to himself.

Back at home, George hobbles around the house with a bag of frozen peas pressed against his groin, feigning a practice injury. Mary watches him with concern, her earlier baby fever dissipating as she laughs off the idea of raising another child. George breathes a sigh of relief, knowing that for now, the threat of an unplanned addition to their family has been averted.
