The episode commences as Yumi and Soon-rok arrive at the hotel in Busan. They are invited to join the rest of their team at a pub, but Soon-rok declines, and so does Yumi. After settling into her room, Yumi realizes it's still Soon-rok's birthday. She sends him a gift (a voucher for a cafe, though it's not entirely clear what it is) and a heartfelt birthday message. He responds with a smiley face, making Yumi feel quite elated.
In the morning, Yumi finds everything about Soon-rok endearing, including his breakfast choices. While he's ordering sandwiches for the team, Yumi strikes up a conversation with him. He speaks to her very formally, assuming she's much older than him, and even asks when her birthday is. Their conversation is interrupted by the arrival of Dae-young and another writer named Kim Ju-ho.
Unfortunately, the topic of age comes up again, and Ju-ho figures Yumi is four years younger than him. He claims they are from the same generation, which leaves Yumi dismayed as Soon-rok does the math on her age as well. When she's back in her room, Ju-ho calls and invites her to explore one of Busan's book streets. She agrees, knowing Soon-rok will be there too.
As they get in a cab, Ju-ho starts talking about how they're from the same generation. It gets worse when they walk through the book street, with Ju-ho constantly referencing nostalgic comic books and brands from their childhood. Yumi tries to play it cool but doesn't have to for long because Soon-rok suddenly leaves. She is then forced to join Ju-ho for a meal.
A call between Soon-rok and Dae-young reveals that he only left because Ju-ho asked him to. When Yumi returns to the hotel, she calls Yi-da, who was also keen on setting her up with Kim Ju-ho. In the evening, she goes down for dinner and overhears Dae-young and Soon-rok talking about her and Ju-ho. Soon-rok says he doesn't think they make a good match, which makes Yumi happy.
As the entire team gathered for dinner, Yumi found herself seated amidst the older members of the group. After a while, her mind began to wander, particularly as Soon-rok sat far away. Bored and restless, Yumi slipped out quietly. In her thoughts, Writer Cell posited that this crush would go nowhere since Soon-rok hadn't shown any sign of interest in her. However, her thoughts were interrupted by Soon-rok calling out to her. He explained that he had been asked to walk her to the hotel, as it was late. Love Cell interpreted this as a possible sign, but when Yumi asked him if he simply wanted to escape the dinner, he agreed that was part of it. He dropped her off at the hotel and mentioned that he would be heading to a nearby theater to watch a movie.
Yumi went to her room, but she couldn't help but wonder if she could ask Soon-rok if she could join him. Gathering her courage, she called him and asked if they could watch the movie together. Unfortunately, he said he preferred watching movies alone.
Kim Ju-ho then called Soon-rok and informed him that they were moving to a different location. He wanted Soon-rok to bring Yumi there, but Soon-rok lied and said Yumi wanted to watch a movie and wouldn't be available. He then texted Yumi and asked if she still wanted to watch the movie together. Yumi smiled in response.
