In the opening of Episode 6 of Yumi's Cells Season 3, Yumi is in full swing, writing her novel with determination. Writer Cell is thrilled with the progress made since Soon-rok clearly drew the line between them. However, Emotion Cell is upset with Pride Cell, as she was the one who set up Soon-rok's date with Yumi's friend, Jenny. Meanwhile, Love Cell is sick, a sign that Yumi is lovesick.
Yumi realizes that Jenny and Soon-rok's date is approaching, and she receives a text from Jenny informing her that they are meeting at a cafe in Ilsan. Conveniently, Yumi decides to drive out and buy a snack at that moment. She goes to Ilsan and spots Jenny and Soon-rok at a cafe. Unfortunately, they see her too. Yumi's Pride Cell takes over, and she confidently strides in and chats with them, even paying the bill (taking on the role of the "pretty noona who buys you food").
In the evening, Jenny stops by Yumi's studio and makes Yumi call Soon-rok to ask him about the date since he hasn't texted her since the date. Soon-rok gives a positive response and says he'll get in touch with Jenny again. On the other end, Soon-rok's Reason Cell wonders if Yumi ever had feelings for him. Meanwhile, Love Cell throws Soon-rok's X-ray into the trash.
At Yumi and Soon-rok's next meeting, Jenny texts her and asks about him again. When she brings it up, Soon-rok's demeanor turns a little cold as he says he will reach out to Jenny soon. That evening, Jenny confirms that Soon-rok has set up a second date with her.
Meanwhile, Soon-rok goes home but isn't able to recharge as he usually does. Reason Cell blames Love Cell for not doing the surgery properly. He suddenly gets a call from Na-hui, who is struggling to install a game console at Yumi's studio (for writing purposes). In an unexpected move, Soon-rok offers to go to the studio and install it himself, despite the late hour.
While he's there, Yumi suddenly turns up. She says she couldn't sleep and came to the studio to write. She's also got her favorite bungeoppang and offers to share it with him. Soon-rok shows her the ropes of the game, leading to several moments when they are quite close to each other. Soon-rok suggests trying more games but she points out how late it is. On the way home, Soon-rok's Reason Cell is surprised to see that he is now fully recharged.
Friday arrives soon enough - the day of Soon-rok's second date with Jenny. He goes for a meeting with Yumi and Na-hui but says he can't stay for dinner. Inwardly, he plans to end things with Jenny after the date. But on his way out of Yumi's studio, he sees Kim Ju-ho walking inside with a bottle of wine.
Ju-ho climbs the stairs, offering Yumi a bottle of wine as a gesture of reconciliation for his behavior in Busan. In return, she apologizes to him. Meanwhile, Soon-rok arrives near the restaurant for his planned meeting. Still in his car, he calls Na-hui to check if everything is okay. She informs him that they are all going out for dinner.
During the dinner, Ju-ho speaks to Dae-young on the phone outside while Yumi and Na-hui are inside. Yumi suddenly receives a text from Jenny, who says that Soon-rok cancelled their date at the last minute. To her surprise, she then sees Soon-rok arriving at their restaurant. He meets Ju-ho, who is not pleased to see him and tells him not to be Yumi's watchdog.
Soon-rok finally loses his cool and describes how Ju-ho always uses vintage wine to make a move on the women around him. He's done this at least five times so far, and Soon-rok has been the one to bear the consequences. Soon-rok threatens to tell Dae-young everything. Ju-ho starts pushing Soon-rok around, and the two of them end up in a fight. The staff members are forced to pull Ju-ho off Soon-rok.
Dae-young, having been called to the restaurant by Ju-ho, arrives and witnesses all this. Everybody goes their separate ways. Meanwhile, Soon-rok finds his broken glasses in the bushes outside the restaurant. When he goes home, he gets a call from Dae-young who demands that he turn up at Ju-ho's studio and apologize to him.
Instead, Soon-rok turns up at Yumi's studio. When Yumi asks him why he's there, he says he doesn't know. He also doesn't know why he blew off Jenny. Episode 6 ends with him telling Yumi that he might have feelings for her.
