Bryce Dallas Howard has recently made a stunning confession regarding the bittersweet reality of box office disappointments. In a candid revelation, the esteemed actress of 'Jurassic World' fame shared her thoughts on the emotional impact of receiving negative reviews for films such as 'Argylle' and 'The Lady in the Water'.
"The writing's often on the wall even as you're filming," confessed the 44-year-old in a recent interview with The Independent. With a tone of reflection, Bryce elaborated, "I've never been blindsided by a film's failure. But then again, I'm merely an actor – a cog in the wheel, serving the director's grand vision."
"When a movie doesn't meet your expectations, disappointment is a luxury you can't afford, for it's not your creation," clarified the talented actress, who has also starred in 'Hereafter'. She further shared, "You're not the architect behind the scenes."
Opening up more intimately, Bryce revealed that her director father, Ron Howard, struggles to detach himself from his projects in a similar manner. "He's absolutely astounded by my ability to let go," added Bryce, noting how her father is often deeply affected whenever one of his directed films falls short.
It's worth mentioning that Bryce herself faced one of her most significant setbacks last year with 'Argylle', a $200 million spy comedy packed with stars and helmed by 'Kingsman' director Matthew Vaughn.
