"Epic is a label that deeply comprehends me, both artistically and personally, and I'm incredibly grateful for that," Leray expresses to THR, announcing her new venture. "They empower me rather than dictate my path, which is all an artist could hope for when aligning with a major label."

Prior to her transition to the Sony Music subsidiary, Leray's musical endeavors flourished under Republic Records and Island Records, both part of the Universal Music Group constellation. Her 2023 smash single, "Players," which has achieved platinum status, garnered her a maiden Grammy nomination in the Best Rap Performance category for 2024. Additionally, she was recognized in the Best Pop Dance Recording category that same year for her collaboration on David Guetta's "Baby Don't Hurt," featuring British vocalist Anne-Marie.

"What Happened to Forever," a five-track masterpiece inspired by real-life occurrences, has been described as profoundly personal. It boasts productions by the likes of Tommy Brown, CashMoney AP, ItsnotHarold, and Johnny Goldstein, among other esteemed producers. This collection will serve as the 27-year-old New Jersey native's first release following her 2024 EP, "Lemon Cars."

"Many fail to grasp that artists endure genuine life challenges," Leray shares about the EP, which masterfully blends personal introspection with a pop sensibility, set against piano-driven melodies and soothing rhythms. "I'm still healing, right? So, it's something I prefer not to discuss openly, but I suppose I can say that I allow the music to articulate for me. Making music is the best outlet for me to vent."

She further elaborates, "When I met with Sylvia [Rhone] and Ezekiel [Lewis], their immediate understanding and belief in me, after hearing my journey and experiences as an artist, was both flattering and reassuring. They grasped it all."

Epic Records boasts an impressive roster including Travis Scott, Andre 3000, Meghan Trainor, and Tyla, among others, now welcoming Coi Leray into its fold.
