"Dexter: Resurrection" has secured yet another illustrious addition to its roster. Peter Dinklage, renowned for his iconic portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in HBO's "Game of Thrones," has signed on to join Michael C. Hall on the murder-laden board of this highly anticipated revival. Dinklage, who will be a series regular, will embody Leon Prater, a billionaire venture capitalist with a hidden agenda. According to his character description, Leon is a benevolent philanthropist to the world, but beneath his polished exterior lies a labyrinth of dark secrets and intrigue.

Joining him are previously announced cast members Uma Thurman and the returning stars of the "Dexter" franchise: David Zayas, James Remar, and Jack Alcott. Hall reprises his role as the titular serial killer, Dexter Morgan, and will once again lend his voice as the narrator, just as he did in all previous seasons. Set in the present day, "Dexter: Resurrection" is currently under production in New York and is slated to premiere this summer on Paramount+ with Showtime.

Showrunner Clyde Phillips, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, previously elaborated on how the various installments within the "Dexter" intellectual property intertwine. He described "Dexter: Resurrection" as the natural continuation, or "the next season," following "Dexter: New Blood," the revival series that aired in 2021, after the flagship series "Dexter" concluded its run in 2013.

Sandwiched between "New Blood" and the impending "Resurrection" is "Dexter: Original Sin," the currently airing prequel series that will conclude this weekend. This prequel delves into the younger years of Dexter Morgan (played by Patrick Gibson), providing insights into how he became the serial killer embodied by Hall in present times. The premiere of "Original Sin" served as a bridge between "New Blood" and "Resurrection," literally bringing Hall's Dexter back from the brink of death after he was shot and left for dead in the "New Blood" finale.

Dinklage is an acclaimed actor in film, television, and theater, best known for his Emmy Award-winning role in "Game of Thrones," which garnered him a record four Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe. More recently, he produced and starred in "American Dreamer," "The Thicket," and "Brothers" through his production company, Estuary Films. He is also part of the hit ensemble in "Wicked," voicing Dr. Dillamond. His upcoming films include "The Toxic Avenger" and "Lear Rex," starring Al Pacino.

"Dexter: Resurrection" is executive produced by Emmy nominee Phillips, who returns as showrunner, and is produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios. Hall executive produces alongside Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns, with Marcos Siega serving as the producing director. Monica Raymund will helm four episodes, while Siega will direct six, promising a thrilling and captivating return to the world of Dexter Morgan.
