Her talent manager, Annie Spolianky, echoed the sentiment of TerBlanche's kindness and warmth, confirming the news to Variety and describing her as a "wonderful, kind, and loving person."

From 1997 to 2001, TerBlanche embodied the role of Gillian on "All My Children," captivating audiences with her complex portrayal of a royal woman who found herself embroiled in love, turmoil, and ultimately tragedy. Her character's marriage to Ryan Lavery (played by Cameron Mathison) ended in heartbreak when she was fatally shot by an assassin in a case of mistaken identity. In a poignant return in 2011, TerBlanche reprised her role as Gillian's ghost, marking a bittersweet farewell to the soap opera that had been a part of her life for over a decade.

"When I came back, it was truly an emotional reunion for me and Cameron," TerBlanche shared with Soap Opera Digest in a heartfelt interview. "Seeing each other again after so many years, we both couldn't help but cry. It was a deeply touching moment for us both."

Born on January 7, 1973, in Rustenberg, a city nestled in the North West province of South Africa, TerBlanche began her acting journey after being crowned Miss Teen South Africa in 1991. Her early career saw her star as Beatrice "Bienkie" Naudé Hartman on "Egoli: Place of Gold," the pioneering South African soap opera, where she remained a fixture from 1992 to 1995. Eventually, she crossed the ocean to pursue her dreams in the United States, landing the role of Gillian on "All My Children."

Following the tragic conclusion of her character's arc in 2001, TerBlanche returned to South Africa, where she opened a spa and collaborated on documentaries with filmmaker Michael Kastenbaum. Until her passing, TerBlanche balanced her time between her homeland and California, leaving behind a legacy of captivating performances and a heartfelt spirit that will be remembered fondly.
