On Tuesday, Kat Timpf of Fox News disclosed a poignant personal journey, revealing that she was diagnosed with breast cancer mere hours before welcoming her firstborn into the world last week. Fox News’ Kat Timpf reveals she was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly before giving birth to son 1

"Just a week ago," Timpf recounted on X, "I embraced motherhood for the first time. Little did I know, approximately fifteen hours prior to going into labor, I received a breast cancer diagnosis."

In her candid post, Timpf elaborated that fortune smiled upon her as the cancer was detected at an incredibly early stage – Stage 0 – with her physician reassuring her that it had likely not spread. "Or, as I've lightheartedly assured the handful who I've confided in thus far: Don't panic; it's merely a speck of cancer," she quipped.

Amidst the anticipation and stress of being over a week past her due date, the news of her diagnosis added another layer of anxiety to her focus on delivering a healthy baby. "I sat, absorbing the information that the most advisable course of action would be a prompt double mastectomy," she continued, interspersing humor amidst the gravity of her narrative. "I even joked about requesting a copy of my tumor ultrasound to hang beside my baby's ultrasound on the fridge."

As midnight approached, Timpf found herself in spontaneous labor, scrambling across her apartment floor before rushing to the hospital to meet her newborn son. "Upon his arrival, I learned that my little miracle was a boy," she shared.

An author of two books, Timpf acknowledged that her maternity leave over the coming three months would unfold differently from her initial expectations. "Navigating new motherhood alongside this new cancer journey, I'm learning to cherish every moment. I'm fortunate that we caught the cancer early; I'm blessed to be my son's mother," she said, welcoming her bundle of joy with her husband, Cameron Friscia. "He's absolutely wonderful – and not just because he might have been my guardian angel in disguise," she added with a touch of humor.

"Thank you all for your unwavering support, laughter, and love as I embrace this unexpected turn in my life," she continued. "Here's to resilience, to finding miracles amidst the chaos, and to nurturing humor and hope, even on our darkest days."

Fox News colleagues and beyond swiftly echoed their well-wishes across social media platforms. Greg Gutfeld tweeted, "We're all standing by you, Kat!" Fox News host Lisa "Kennedy" Montgomery posted, "You're incredible in every sense. Your heroism during labor, given the events of that day, was inspiring. I adore you." Meghan McCain added, "You're one of the strongest women I've ever encountered, and we've weathered numerous storms together. Truly, there's no one tougher. Our hearts are with you and your family."
