Hugh Grant has regaled audiences with an unvarnished anecdote about his initially catastrophic encounter with Sandra Bullock, who would later become his co-star in the beloved romantic comedy, Two Weeks Notice. In a revealing chat with the BBC, Grant disclosed that during their first meeting, he recounted a "gross story" to Bullock, causing her to steer clear of him for an extended period of nearly three years.
Grant, renowned for his endearing roles in films like Notting Hill and Love Actually, admitted to harboring a long-standing admiration for Bullock and being thrilled at the prospect of collaborating with her. However, his initial exhilaration swiftly soured into humiliation following their cringe-worthy encounter. "We had been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to work together for what felt like an eternity," Grant reminisced. "But when we finally had our initial 'getting-to-know-you' session, I shared with Sandy an incredibly revolting tale. She promptly exited the room, and I didn't hear another word from her for three whole years."
Bullock, the star of The Lost City, echoed her discomfort in a separate interview, acknowledging Grant's authenticity while noting that his bluntness could sometimes be off-putting. "He really needs to reign himself in," she quipped. "If people were privy to all his unfiltered thoughts, he could potentially offend virtually anyone."
Despite their rocky beginning, the duo eventually patched things up and displayed remarkable on-screen chemistry in Two Weeks Notice, which went on to rake in an impressive $199 million at the global box office.
