In a heart-to-heart chat with Bustle, the 46-year-old comedienne, Mindy Kaling, finally unveiled the reason behind her reluctance to walk down the aisle. Mindy reminisced about her youthful aspirations, stating that her two primary goals were to pen sketches for Saturday Night Live and to experience the joy of matrimony. "Professionally, I yearned to be a part of Saturday Night Live's writing team and its cast," she recalled. "Personally, I desired to find my soulmate and get married. However, neither of those aspirations materialized."
When suggested that these dreams could still come true, Mindy thoughtfully replied that she no longer feels the need for them to attain fulfillment. "That's intriguing," she mused. "Those dreams might still come true, but perhaps I no longer feel the imperative to fulfill them, which is a delightful sensation."
Mindy has kept her love life under wraps, but she did share her thoughts on her past relationship with B.J. Novak, a close friend from 2004 to 2007. "He truly feels like a part of our family. I relish discussing him because my children adore him, and he's an integral part of our lives," the creator of 'Never Have I Ever' expressed. "But I'm also aware that it sparks curiosity among others."
She candidly added, "If I were an outsider observing our relationship, I would have the same questions and reactions." This candid admission paints a vivid picture of Mindy's evolving outlook on love and life.
