Rebel Wilson's day on the set of the upcoming action-comedy "Bride Hard," co-starring Anna Camp, was far from flawless. In fact, the actress sustained an injury during the filming of a pivotal scene.
"During a fight sequence, a gun unexpectedly smacked across my face," Rebel recounted to Access Hollywood in an interview on June 13. "It was a bizarre accident, and my nose was split open as a result. I had to leave the set that very night, my final night of shooting. I thought to myself, 'How could my luck be this bad?'"
The 45-year-old actress, who portrays a secret agent named Sam in the film, noted that there was a "pool of blood" surrounding her after the incident. Fortunately, the professionals on set acted swiftly to attend to her injuries.
"I was panicking," she continued. "They called an ambulance and a plastic surgeon, because if they hadn't, I would have been permanently scarred. Thankfully, the plastic surgeon arrived, stitched me up, and now you can barely notice anything."
Indeed, Rebel first revealed the injury in an August 2023 post on her Instagram Stories. At that time, she shared a video of her wound, which featured minor scarring near the bridge of her nose, and assured her followers that she was on the mend.
"I just wanted to say thank you for all your well-wishes," Wilson said in the clip, according to Entertainment Weekly. "I've been healing remarkably well. The stitches from my on-set accident last week have already dissolved."
While Rebel's luck with one of the "Bride Hard" stunts wasn't the best, she was overjoyed to reunite with her "Pitch Perfect" co-star Anna Camp. In fact, she and Anna revealed that they have been "friends for 14 years," which helped them to authentically portray their characters' close friendship in the action film.
"When I got this project and saw that there was a girl squad in it, I immediately thought of Anna to play a part," Rebel explained in the recent interview. "She's such a versatile actress that she could have played any role. But Anna naturally gravitated towards the best friend role."
