Why Meghan Markle’s Podcast Is Going on Hiatus

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has hit the pause button on one of her many ventures. Amidst her bustling schedule, which encompasses a Netflix series titled "With Love, Meghan," and a lifestyle brand named As Ever, she has made the decision to defer the second season of her podcast, "Confessions of a Female Founder." Her rationale behind this choice stems from her desire to heed the wisdom imparted by numerous guests on her show.

"Imagine the incredible opportunity to pull back the curtain and provide an inside look at the very beginning," she shared with fellow podcaster Emma Grede during a guest appearance on June 17. "To engage in candid conversations with a multitude of female founders who have traversed the full trajectory of success is truly remarkable. I've been able to open up about my personal learning experiences and stumbles along the way, with honesty and vulnerability."

Meghan elaborated, "Embracing everyone's advice, including my own, I've come to realize that while there's immense excitement and anticipation for another season, my focus must remain on nurturing my business."

The 43-year-old, who co-parents Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 3, with her husband Prince Harry, has a plethora of responsibilities on her plate. "People often overlook the fact that the behind-the-scenes hustle is rarely visible to the public eye," she explained. "While I can offer a small glimpse into that world, the truth is, I was wrapping up season one of my Netflix series while simultaneously promoting it and being involved in the editing process. For season two, we were in pre-production while still finalizing post-production for the first—it's a relentless cycle. I only recently completed editing for season two of 'With Love, Meghan,' and all of this is happening amidst podcasting and building my brand."

She quipped, "At some point, the only thing I want to be spread thin is my jam." Although she has cherished the ability to share this chapter of her life, she acknowledges the importance of listening to the "invaluable insights from women who have walked this path before" and prioritizing accordingly.

"Does this mean it won't return? Absolutely not," Meghan reassured her audience. "I yearn to bring the show back when I've reached a different stage in my entrepreneurial journey. When I can reflect on Q4 and showcase my achievements, exclaiming, 'What a year it's been!' Or perhaps even longer. I believe a future time will be thrilling, offering a fascinating comparison and contrast."

However, the "Suits" alum will carry forward the lessons imparted by her guests, with a chief takeaway being, "Someone else's urgency is not my urgency." "Many of the women I've spoken to are working mothers," she clarified. "And at this crucial juncture in their children's lives, I too, do not want to miss a single moment."
