When discussing the intricacies of parenting, Riley Keough reveals her intention to take a slightly divergent path from her mother, Lisa Marie Presley. The 35-year-old actress of "Under the Bridge" graced the "Call Her Daddy" podcast on January 15th, where host Alex Cooper inquisitively asked how she might approach parenting her 2-year-old daughter Tupelo, conceived with husband Ben Smith-Petersen, differently from how her own mother nurtured her.

"My mom was an extraordinary parent," Keough reminisces. "She aspired to provide us with the same breathtaking experiences her father had bestowed upon her. Yet, for me personally, I foresee a potential pitfall. When one is accustomed to an abundance, finding delight in the mundane can become challenging."

"Hence, my earnest wish is for my children to savor the joy of backyard play and engage in the ordinary pleasures of childhood, without constantly needing elephants, circuses, and all the grandeur," she elaborates.

While acknowledging the divergence in their parenting philosophies, Keough emphatically states that her mother's intentions were pure. "She genuinely wanted to give her all to her children," the actress clarifies.

In a conversation with author Taylor Jenkins Reid last November, Keough shared how she, in some ways, mirrors Presley's parenting style. "I often refer to it as a southern parenting style, but it's uniquely ingrained in my family," Keough begins. "Though rooted in the south, it mirrors the way I was parented, and now, in turn, how I parent. It's an immersive blend of love, tactile affection, and a suffocating lack of boundaries."

Regarding her detailed portrayal of her family's distinctive parenting style in her mother's memoir, "From Here to the Great Unknown," Keough explains, "I believed capturing the quirky, Southern dialect my family employs could vividly illustrate the sheer wildness of our bond. It offers a glimpse into our uniquely疯狂 world."
