Hedren's storied journey began in the 1950s as a fashion model in the bustling city of New York, but it was in the 1960s that she garnered international acclaim for her starring roles in Alfred Hitchcock's mesmerizing films, 'The Birds' and 'Marnie'. The former film earned her the prestigious title of Most Promising Newcomer at the 1964 Golden Globes. Throughout her six-decade-long career, Hedren has not only amassed an impressive filmography but has also nurtured an extensive and loving family.

In 1957, she welcomed Melanie into the world with her then-husband, advertising executive Peter Griffith, whom she later divorced in 1961. Melanie herself rose to fame as an actress, notably earning an Oscar nomination for her performance in the 1988 film 'Working Girl'. The mother-daughter duo has shared the silver screen on numerous occasions, creating unforgettable memories together.

Hedren is also adored by her grandchildren: Jesse Johnson, 42; Alexander Bauer, 39; Dakota Johnson, 35; and Stella Banderas, 28. Last year, on her 94th birthday, Hedren exclusively shared with PEOPLE that she celebrated amidst the warmth of her family. "It may not seem thrilling to the outside world, but as a mother and grandmother, it's the epitome of celebration," she said, beaming. Melanie's photos from the celebration captured Hedren donning bold pink lipstick and wearing festive glasses adorned with sprinkles, emblazoned with the words "CAKE TIME!"

In January 2003, Hedren was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with Melanie proudly presenting the award to her while a youthful Dakota and Stella watched admiringly from the audience. In November 2016, to mark the release of Hedren's memoir, 'Tippi', the trio participated in a joint interview with Vanity Fair. During the interview, Melanie expressed her deep appreciation for being part of such a legendary family. "The three generations remind me of Mom, born in 1930, me in the '50s, and Dakota in the '80s. The unfolding of life is truly breathtaking," she said with emotion.

Hedren maintains a close bond with her former son-in-law Don Johnson, whom Melanie married twice, in 1976 and 1989, before their final divorce in 1996. In an Instagram post from August 2024, Johnson, who starred alongside Hedren in the 1973 film 'The Harrad Experiment', captioned a picture of them together, "Gorgeous... my co-star, Tippi Hedren."

This timeless family bond, filled with love and admiration, continues to shine brightly, celebrating each milestone with unparalleled joy and affection.
