Christina Ricci harbors no aspirations for her 10-year-old son to tread the path of a child actor, albeit not for the reasons one might commonly presume. During a recent appearance on the 'Today' show, the actress was inquisitively prompted about whether her son, Freddie, might one day emulate her celebrated acting career.
"My son Freddie certainly enjoys visiting the set," Ricci elaborated with a charming smile. "He's been a frequent visitor on the sets of 'Yellowjackets,' almost becoming a permanent fixture there. He even has his very own chair, and revels in the atmosphere, finding it incredibly enjoyable. Every time he steps onto the set, his inquisitive mind wonders aloud if he too could become a child actor."
Yet, as Ricci hilariously quipped, logistical hurdles seem to stand in the way of Freddie's potential acting debut. "I often joke, 'Who would accompany you when I'm busy working?' It's not feasible for me to tag along," she laughed, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Though I do believe he possesses the makings of a fine actor. He's remarkably adept at pulling the wool over my eyes, his deception skills are top-notch."
Ricci shares custody of Freddie with her ex-husband, James Heerdegen, while also doting on her 3-year-old daughter, Cleopatra, with her husband Mark Hampton, whom she has been married to since 2021.
The 'Pan Am' actress herself is no stranger to Hollywood's limelight, having embarked on her acting journey as a child. At the tender age of 11, she captured hearts as Wednesday Addams in the 1991 cult classic 'The Addams Family,' reprising her role in its 1993 sequel, 'Addams Family Values.' Over the decades, Ricci has starred in numerous projects, most recently stealing the spotlight in the acclaimed series 'Yellowjackets,' with its third season premiering on February 14th. Additionally, she made a memorable appearance in the first season of Netflix's 'Wednesday,' which features Jenna Ortega in the titular role of Wednesday Addams.
