Zara Tindall confirms departure from the UK after Christmas

Just days after the festive cheer of Christmas fades away, Zara Tindall, the daughter of Princess Anne, is preparing to embark on an exhilarating journey to Australia, fueled by one of her most cherished sporting commitments of the year. She will be accompanied by her husband, Mike Tindall, as they make their annual pilgrimage to Queensland for the prestigious Magic Millions Polo event on the Gold Coast. This annual excursion has become a mainstay in the Tindalls' calendar, with Zara serving as an ardent ambassador for the tournament since 2012.

This year's event promises to be an extra special one, as Zara will be joined by Argentine polo sensation Nacho Figueras and his wife, Delfina Blaquier. Nacho, a close friend of Prince Harry, was recently spotted playing polo alongside him at a charity event in Aspen, Colorado, further solidifying their bond.

Australia holds a profound personal significance for Zara and Mike, who often refer to it as their "home away from home." Speaking to Hello! magazine in the past, Zara eloquently expressed how the country has become a second base for the family after years of regular visits. "We have always loved Australia, and it is like a home from home for us," she said. "We have been coming to Queensland for so long now that it has become a tradition for the start of the year."

The couple's connection to Australia dates back more than two decades, with their romantic encounter in a Sydney bar in 2003 still fresh in their memories. Mike had been dropped from England's Rugby World Cup squad at that time, while Zara was traveling during a gap year. Before jetting off to Australia, Zara and Mike have been indulging in a festive family break in Europe, taking their three children, Mia, Lena, and Luca, on a ski holiday in Austria's resort of Saint Anton.
