In an interview with People Magazine, Noah shared, "I was nervous. I was thinking, 'How are they going to write that?' But when I read it, I just cried, and I was like, 'This is perfect. They did it.' There's no notes needed.'" The actor further praised the monologue for being "impressive" in its ability to accurately reflect both his real-life experience and the character he played.

When discussing the Duffer brothers, Noah said, "They told me they went to some queer family and friends to help understand how to do it right." He admitted that he was "a little nervous about everyone individually standing up," wondering if it would be "weird." However, in the moment, everything felt so real and natural, and it worked perfectly.

Noah Schnapp also noted that the journey was similar to his real life. "You don't suddenly accept yourself and then tell everyone. It's a process of internal acceptance followed by outward expression. It's so beautifully written, and it was really special to be able to play that role," he said.

The second volume of Stranger Things season 5 was released on Christmas day on Netflix, and Noah's honesty and vulnerability have only added to the show's already strong message of acceptance and self-discovery.
