Lin-Manuel Miranda has unveiled the star-studded cast for his upcoming feature film, Octet. In a captivating Instagram post on Tuesday, Miranda listed Amanda Seyfried, Rachel Zegler, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Philipa Soo, Gaten Matarazzo, Jonathan Groff, Tramell Tillman, and Paul-Jordan Jansen as the talented individuals who will bring this musical adaptation to life. He further revealed that rehearsals for the project have already commenced, fueling anticipation for what's to come.

Earlier this month, Miranda revealed that he would helm a feature film adaptation of the Dave Malloy musical, which premiered Off-Broadway in 2019. The a capella musical delves into the topic of internet addiction through the lens of an eight-person support group meeting in a church basement.
This marks Miranda's second time directing a feature film after successfully steering Jonathan Larson's musical tick, tick…BOOM! in 2021, starring Andrew Garfield. The project arrives amidst various musical endeavors for several cast members, including Zegler, who recently won an Olivier for her role in Evita in the West End; Seyfried, who starred in The Testament of Ann Lee; and Groff, who just completed his Broadway run in Just In Time.
Soo originated the role of Eliza in Miranda's Hamilton, while Ralph, known for Abbott Elementary, returns to musicals after originating the role of Deena in Dreamgirls on Broadway. Matarazzo brings a rich musical background and recently starred in Sweeney Todd alongside his work on Stranger Things. Jansen has appeared on Broadway as an understudy to the titular role in Sweeney Todd. Tillman, best known for Severance, started his career in several Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.
The announcement has fans eagerly anticipating the film's release and the unique story it promises to tell through the power of music and the compelling performances of its talented cast.
