Released on Tuesday, the promo from Searchlight Pictures showcases Marielle Heller's masterful blend of horror and comedy, set to grace theaters on December 6. Alongside Adams, the star-studded cast boasts Scoot McNairy, Zoë Chao, and Mary Holland, all converging on a tale of an artist (Adams) who sacrifices her burgeoning career to embrace motherhood, only to be confronted with the surreal possibility of her transforming into a canine.

"I'm never going to be smart, happy, or thin again," Adams laments in the trailer, her words dripping with irony and despair. "Oh, and I'm pretty sure I'm turning into a dog." As she grapples with this bizarre turn of events, she delves into the depths of feminine power, exclaiming, "Do you ever feel like the biggest secret is that we are gods? We, the ones who bring forth life, wield an incredible strength." Later, with a mischievous grin, she boldly declares, "I could crush a walnut with my vagina," underscoring her newfound empowerment.

Heller, who penned and directed this adaptation of Rachel Yoder's 2021 novel of the same name, has assembled a formidable team of producers including Adams herself, Heller, Anne Carey, Sue Naegle, Stacy O'Neil, and Christina Oh. 'Nightbitch' is slated to steal the spotlight at the Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday, marking a triumphant shift from its initial Hulu premiere plans to a theatrical release.

Adams, a six-time Oscar nominee, continues to captivate audiences with her diverse roles, recently seen in 'Disenchanted', 'Dear Evan Hansen', 'The Woman in the Window', and 'Hillbilly Elegy'. Heller, on the other hand, adds another feather to her directorial cap, following acclaimed works like 'The Diary of a Teenage Girl', 'Can You Ever Forgive Me?', and 'A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood'. Together, they bring 'Nightbitch' to life, a film that promises to leave audiences howling with laughter and awe.
