Cillian Murphy, the celebrated star of "Oppenheimer," is set to reprise his iconic role as Tommy Shelby in an upcoming "Peaky Blinders" movie. The Irish actor catapulted to fame with the crime drama series, which first premiered in 2013. The Netflix hit featured Murphy as the formidable leader of the Birmingham-based gang, the Peaky Blinders. Penned by the talented trio of Steven Knight, Toby Finlay, and Stephen Russell, this historical crime saga spanned six seasons, continuing to captivate audiences on the streaming platform until 2022.

Now, the globally beloved show is poised to make a cinematic comeback with a film titled "The Immortal Man," starring the 49-year-old Murphy in his legendary role. Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for the project. However, according to Collider, there's a strong possibility that the new film will grace screens in the first half of 2026.

In a candid conversation with The Observer, the "Small Things Like These" star revealed his decision to return to the iconic character, driven by a "sense of duty to the fans." In a heartfelt statement, Cillian shared, “I calculated that I’ve been portraying this character for a quarter of my life, which is quite surreal.” He continued, “The script was exceptional, and I felt a profound responsibility to the fans because, in many ways, they were instrumental in the show's remarkable success. It serves as a fitting conclusion to the entire 36-hour television journey,” he confessed.

The much-anticipated movie will also boast an ensemble cast including Paul Anderson, Barry Keoghan, Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, and Rebecca Ferguson.
