'Deadpool & Wolverine' Final Trailer: Lady Deadpool, Dafne Keen

Published: Jul 22 2024

The final trailer for the highly anticipated "Deadpool & Wolverine" has arrived, and it's a star-studded affair, introducing the franchise's ladies - Lady Deadpool and the formidable X-23, brilliantly portrayed by Dafne Keen, who last thrilled audiences in the hit movie "Logan," Hugh Jackman's beloved farewell to the Wolverine role. Jackman reprises his iconic role as the X-Men antihero, as he's hinted to the press and as is customary in the vast comic book film universe. Ryan Reynolds returns as the titular wisecracking vigilante, unafraid to break the fourth wall, and the final trailer, ahead of the film's theatrical release next week, highlights the dramatic interactions between Wolverine and Deadpool, two of Marvel's most anti-social yet charming creations.

"I know I make light of everything," Reynolds says as Deadpool, taking on a surprisingly serious tone in the voiceover. "But I care. And I wanted to use that for something significant." The trailer also showcases multiple iterations of the irreverent protagonist, including Cowboy Deadpool and Lady Deadpool, who makes her full-fledged appearance for the first time in this trailer, albeit with her face masked, leaving audiences guessing who the female crime fighter will be. Rumors abound that Taylor Swift, a close friend of Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively, could be a contender, and such a casting would undoubtedly delight the masses.

In a later scene filled with drama and pulse-pounding action, Wolverine sits in the woods, declaring, "Whoever you think I am, you've got the wrong guy." A reverse shot reveals he's engaging with Keen's X-23, adding an intriguing layer to their already compelling relationship. Director Shawn Levy recently revealed to Collider that while "Deadpool & Wolverine" maintains Deadpool's trademark tone, it's not a sequel to "Deadpool 2." "At the end of the day, it's very much a Deadpool movie, but this isn't 'Deadpool 3,'" he said. "This is 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' and it's unique because of that."
