"I am not privy to the mysteries that await you at the crater's edge, but I am certain – it is where the world... shall be reborn anew." Lionsgate has unveiled a second trailer for Greenland 2: Migration, a sci-fi disaster sequel that has transformed into an epic post-apocalyptic survival thriller. Set to hit the big screens on January 2026, the original Greenland also premiered in January 2020, a few years back. At the conclusion of that inaugural film (spoiler alert!), the Garrity family narrowly escaped into the safety of Greenland's bunker just before the comet claimed Earth and all its inhabitants. This continuation of their tale finds them, five years later, venturing forth from their bunker's protective embrace into the perilous expanse of a decimated Europe, their quest a journey towards a new horizon - a place in France, where the comet's main crater beckons.

The sequel stars Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, Roger Dale Floyd, Roman Griffin Davis, Amber Rose Revah, and Trond Fausa Aurvåg. My anticipation is palpable! It's a bold move to create a sequel set in a post-apocalyptic world post-comet devastation, where they must navigate their way towards the crater. Is it scientifically plausible? I'll be there to find out.
The sequel to the cosmic disaster film Greenland (2020) continues the story of the Garrity family, who survived a near-extinction event when a comet struck Earth. Now, five years after finding sanctuary in Greenland's bunker, they embark on a treacherous journey across the frozen wasteland of Europe in search of a new home. Greenland 2: Migration, also known simply as Greenland: Migration, is once again directed by American filmmaker/stuntman Ric Roman Waugh, who has previously directed In the Shadows, Felon, Snitch, Shot Caller, Angel Has Fallen, Greenland, National Champions, and Kandahar. The screenplay is penned by Chris Sparling and Mitchell LaFortune, and produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Sébastien Raybaud, John Zois, Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel, Brendon Boyea, and Ric Roman Waugh. Made by STX, Anton, Thunder Road, and G-BASE Film Production, Lionsgate will release this Greenland 2: Migration sequel nationwide starting January 9th, 2026 - early in the new year. Who's ready for this epic adventure?
