Callie Cooke, who portrayed the determined tire gunner in Brad Pitt's racing thriller "F1," has secured the female lead role in Warner Bros.' upcoming action film, opposite Keanu Reeves, being directed by Tim Miller. The film, which began production this week, has also welcomed Nicholas Duvernay, Steven Waddington, Abraham Popoola, Bobby Holland Hanton, and Anastasia Safonov to its cast.
The water-centric feature, formerly titled "Shiver" when Warner Bros. acquired it last fall, is now simply referred to as the untitled Tim Miller/Keanu Reeves film. It's currently being shot in the Dominican Republic and is utilizing massive water tanks to recreate sea-set sequences before relocating to the UK. The script, penned by Ian Shorr, has been described as a blend of "Edge of Tomorrow," the Tom Cruise sci-fi film about a soldier trapped in a time loop during an alien invasion, and "The Shallows," the survival thriller starring Blake Lively against a shark.

The story follows a smuggler (Reeves) trapped in a time loop after a deadly double-cross while on a job in the Caribbean Sea, leaving him surrounded by bodies, hostile mercenaries, and ravenous sharks. Cooke plays the female lead as a scientist, while the other actors portray characters ranging from shipmates to mercenaries.
Matthew Vaughn, Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, and John Zaozirny are producing the film, with Scott Lumpkin executive producing. Warner Bros. has set an August 13, 2027, release date.
In addition to "F1," Cooke is known for her role as "Esther" in the popular BBC comedy series "Cheaters" and guest-leading an episode of "Doctor Who" opposite Ncuti Gatwa for BBC/Disney+ in 2024. She is represented by Curtis Brown and Jackoway Austen.

Duvernay is represented by UTA, Rebel Creative Group, and Yorn Levine.
Waddington currently stars as the ruthless "Earl of Huntington" in "Robin Hood" for Lionsgate TV/MGM+. His other credits include the Apple TV+ series "Slow Horses" and Twentieth Century Fox's "The Last of the Mohicans." He is represented by 42 Management & Production.
