"I envisioned our future intertwined," echoed with, "Yeah, me too." Ouch, indeed. Paramount Movies has unveiled the official trailer for an enchanting indie romance titled "Winter Spring Summer or Fall," marking the auspicious feature directorial debut of writer Tiffany Paulsen. Be forewarned, this isn't to be mistaken for the critically acclaimed Korean film "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring" from 2004. Having premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival, this heartfelt tale will soon be available for viewing on VOD next week.
Prepare for another charming narrative of first love. Remi and Barnes, two starkly contrasting teenagers, serendipitously cross paths during the winter of their senior year. Over the span of a transformative year, their lives intertwine as they share four unforgettable days. As the seasons transition from winter's chill to spring's bloom, and then to summer's warmth, the pair finds themselves inexorably drawn to each other. However, with Remi's long-planned journey to Harvard looming in the fall, the young couple is compelled to reevaluate their priorities and what truly matters.
Starring Jenna Ortega as Remi and Percy Hynes White as Barnes, with supporting roles by Marisol Nichols, Adam Rodriguez, Javier Elias Kacavas, Ahaise, Corynn Treadwell, and others, this film may seem a touch cliché with its familiar young love tropes. Yet, it exudes an undeniable charm as we witness the pair navigate their intense emotions.
Remi (Jenna Ortega) has her future meticulously mapped out – Harvard in the fall, making her parents proud, and adhering to the path meticulously laid out for her. Then she encounters Barnes, a spontaneous soul who makes her question every aspect of her life. As their love story blossoms through the summer months, Remi faces a pivotal decision – stick to her predetermined plan or risk it all for a future she never envisioned.
Directed by actress, writer, and filmmaker Tiffany Paulsen, "Winter Spring Summer or Fall" marks her feature directorial debut following a sole short film and contributions as a writer on shows like "Nancy Drew," "Holidate," and "About Fate." The screenplay is penned by Dan Schoffer, with production credits going to Brad Krevoy, Josh Shader, and David M. Wulf. Having premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival, Paramount will release Paulsen's "Winter Spring Summer or Fall" in select US theaters and on VOD starting April 25th, 2025. Springtime cinema is about to get a whole lot sweeter.
