It's time to gear up for a super-powered cinematic adventure! Disney's incoming CEO, Josh D'Amaro, has announced that both a sequel to Pixar's Incredibles franchise and a follow-up to last year's live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch will premiere in the summer of 2028.
A decade after the release of Incredibles 2 in 2018, Incredibles 3 will soar into theaters on June 16, 2028. While Brad Bird, the two-time Oscar winner, penned the first two movies and directed them, he will only serve as the screenwriter for this installment. Instead, Elemental director Peter Sohn will take the helm, as reported by multiple outlets.

Meanwhile, Lilo & Stitch 2 will crash onto movie screens on May 26, 2028, as confirmed by Walt Disney Studios. Chris Sanders, who co-created, co-wrote, and co-directed the original Lilo & Stitch movie in 2002 and co-wrote the 2025 remake, will write the upcoming sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Sanders will also continue to voice the titular alien, a.k.a. Experiment 626, which he also did in the animated sequel Stitch Has A Glitch, which debuted in 2005.
The announcement of another chapter in the live-action version of this adorable and dysfunctional ohana comes as no surprise given that last year's remake raked in more than $1 billion at the global box office. "The love that people have for Lilo & Stitch continues to grow," said Disney Entertainment co-chairman Alan Bergman in a press release in May. "The goal with this new retelling was for audiences to be able to enjoy these characters on the big screen again and hopefully have just as much fun watching it as we had making it."
Bergman added that the cast and crew—including stars Maia Kealoha, Zach Galifianakis, and Hannah Waddingham—are "proud of how this new film has connected with people." "We never take that for granted," Bergman shared. "I'm thankful to our filmmakers, our cast, and all on our Studio team who have made this film such a success, and we look forward to more adventures with these characters ahead."
