With their enduring friendship now the linchpin of their destinies, they must confront each other with raw honesty and empathy if they hope to transform not just themselves, but all of Oz, for the better.

Cynthia Erivo shines as Elphaba Thropp, the green-skinned young woman now infamous as the "Wicked Witch," while Ariana Grande co-stars as Glinda. The stellar ensemble also includes Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, Keala Settle, Bronwyn James, and Jeff Goldblum as the enigmatic Wizard of Oz. Sharon D. Clarke lends her voice as Dulcibear, Elphaba’s childhood nanny. This looks set to be an electrifying conclusion to Glinda and Elphaba’s saga, as they join forces to challenge the Wizard—and the visuals are more vibrant and dazzling than ever.

"You’re the only friend I ever had..." The final chapter of Oz’s untold witchy tale begins with Elphaba and Glinda estranged, each bearing the weight of their past decisions. Elphaba, now vilified as the Wicked Witch of the West, hides in exile within the Ozian forests, continuing her fight for the freedom of Oz’s oppressed Animals and desperately seeking to unveil the truth about the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum). Meanwhile, Glinda has embraced her role as Oz’s glamorous embodiment of goodness, residing in the Emerald City’s palace and basking in the spoils of fame. Yet, under Madame Morrible’s (Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh) guidance, Glinda is tasked with spreading comfort and reassurance across Oz, assuring the people that all is well under the Wizard’s reign.

*Wicked: For Good*, also known as *Wicked: Part Two*, is helmed once again by the talented Jon M. Chu, director of *Step Up 2: The Streets*, *The LXD*, *Step Up 3D*, *G.I. Joe: Retaliation*, *Jem and the Holograms*, *Now You See Me 2*, *Crazy Rich Asians*, *In the Heights*, and the original *Wicked* film. The screenplay, penned by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox, adapts Holzman & Stephen Schwartz’s stage musical, itself based on Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel *Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West*—a dark, imaginative retelling of *The Wonderful Wizard of Oz*. Produced by Marc Platt and David Stone (of the Broadway musical), Universal Pictures will debut Chu’s sequel in theaters worldwide on November 21st, 2025, just ahead of Thanksgiving.
