"Avengers: Doomsday" looms on the horizon, mere weeks shy of its London film shoot, yet Marvel has already thrown its full weight behind Doctor Doom within the confines of its comic book realm. The publisher is immersed in its riveting "One World Under Doom" narrative arc, where Doctor Doom has assumed command of the planet. The Hollywood Reporter presents an exclusive preview of the forthcoming chapter for the "Fantastic Four," as they grapple with unraveling the intricate schemes of their arch-nemesis.

Marvel Unveils Time Traveling Next Chapter for ‘Fantastic Four’ 1

Marvel unveils a fresh start for their iconic quartet with July's "Fantastic Four" #1, a time-warping tale where, amidst a fierce confrontation with Doom, the team is scattered across various epochs of Earth's history. Their solitary hope for restoration lies in procuring the enigmatic Forever Stone, a monolithic granite formation, one of Earth's most enduring rocks, accessible across all temporal boundaries. Amongst these pages, Ben Grimm engages in a prehistoric duel with a dinosaur.

Writer Ryan North, a veteran penman of the "Fantastic Four," who has authored a tome on time travel and created the beloved "Dinosaur Comics," has been meticulously preparing for this milestone. "Though this inaugural saga intertwines dinosaurs and temporal excursions, it fundamentally revolves around these four extraordinary individuals and the profound affection they hold for one another," North emphasizes. "Readers often perceive the FF through the lens of family, and rightfully so, but I find the bond of friendship equally enchanting, which we delve into with these characters. It's high-stakes science fiction imbued with genuine sentiment. What could possibly resist its charm?"

Artist Humberto Ramos contributes, "I've had the fortune to illustrate numerous iconic superheroes across the universe, yet this comic felt distinct from inception. The gravity of history and the enduring legacy of these characters weigh heavily on your shoulders, regardless of your identity or industry experience."

This latest installment succeeds June's "Fantastic Four" #33, marking the conclusion of North's current run. Speaking of the forthcoming trajectory for the "Fantastic Four" title, North reveals, "This comic drops amidst our 'One World Under Doom' event, ensuring his pivotal role in those initial issues. Beyond that, we have scientific enigmas, monstrous creatures, and interstellar escapades awaiting us."
