"You're searching for someone – and so am I." The year's most exhilarating action spectacle! Lionsgate has unveiled the can't-miss official trailer for The Furious, an extraordinary martial arts action movie sensation. Crafted by Japanese/Hong Kong stuntman turned filmmaker Kenji Tanigaki, The Furious also features the renowned stunt crew from Everything Everywhere All at Once. Filmed in Bangkok, Thailand, this movie follows a father's fierce battle against ruthless kidnappers to save his abducted daughter.

Must Watch Trailer for 'The Furious' Badass Martial Arts Action Movie 1

The film opens with this guy teaming up with a journalist to take on pretty much everyone. They must fight the entire crime syndicate and an entire city – and it's absolutely astounding! I'm in love with this movie. It completely and utterly blew me away! The Furious stars Mo Tse (aka Xie Miao) as Wang Wei, alongside The Raid's Joe Taslim and Yayan Ruhian, Yang Enyou, Brian Le, Joey Iwanaga, and JeeJa Yanin.

This trailer offers a generous dose of the movie's action, showcasing numerous jaw-dropping, mind-blowing fight scenes. There are so many of them, and the whole movie rolls on non-stop once it kicks off. In my review last year, I raved: "This movie is The Raid 2 of the 2020s. Another instant action classic." Don't skip this – go watch it in theaters this summer.

After Wang Wei's (Xie Miao) daughter is kidnapped by a criminal network and he receives no help from the corrupt police, Wei embarks on a rampage to find her himself. His only ally is Navin (Joe Taslim) – a relentless journalist whose wife has disappeared. Fueled by a furious vengeance, the unlikely duo ruthlessly fights against the kidnappers in this explosive martial arts showdown.

The Furious is directed by Japanese action filmmaker/stuntman Kenji Tanigaki, who has directed four Shinobi movies, plus Amazons Dragon Woman vs Kunoichi, Legend of Seven Monks, and Enter the Fat Dragon. The screenplay is written by Mak Tin Shu, Lei Zhilong, Shum Kwan Sin, and Frank Hui. Based on the character created by David Morrell. Produced by Bill Kong, Shan Tam, and Frank Hui. This premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival and also played at Fantastic Fest, Sitges, and Beyond Fest.

Lionsgate will debut Tanigaki's The Furious action movie in US theaters starting May 29th, 2026. Ready to watch?
