**Exciting New Role for Patrick Schwarzenegger**
**Ready to Turn the Page in "Beach Read"**
Patrick Schwarzenegger, the White Lotus star, has revealed that he will be starring alongside Bridgerton's Phoebe Dynevor in the film adaptation of Emily Henry's 2020 novel, "Beach Read."
The 32-year-old actor shared his excitement on Instagram Stories on April 14th. "I’m so excited for this!!!" he wrote. "First, let me say thank you to @emilyhenrywrites for this opportunity! I will do everything possible to make the fans happy and proud, and bring your brilliant writing to life."

Schwarzenegger also gave a shoutout to his wife, Abby Champion, who is "obsessed" with Henry and her books. The actor, whose parents are Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, was particularly thrilled to be starring alongside Dynevor. "I can’t wait to bring these characters to life with you," he wrote. "It was a pleasure working opposite you through these chemistry reads."
In "Beach Read," Schwarzenegger will star as dark fiction author Gus, while Dynevor will play romance writer January. The book follows their journey as neighbors at a lake community in Michigan who decide to swap literary genres to help their writers' block. There will be no romance between them, according to the duo.
The film, which doesn't have a release date yet, will be written and directed by Yulin Kuang, the co-writer of People We Meet on Vacation, which was recently adapted from Henry's 2021 novel. Dynevor shared her excitement about her on-screen chemistry with Schwarzenegger, writing on Instagram Stories: "I was so thrilled to watch him bring Gus to life."
"We're giving this everything in the hopes of making @emilyhenrywrites and all the fans proud," she added. "Stay tuned!!"
"Beach Read" is one of several of Henry's books being adapted for the screen. The author is currently working on the script for the streaming adaptation of 2024's Funny Story. Her 2023 novel Happy Place is also being adapted as a Netflix film about former couple Harriet and Wyn who pretend to still be together during a trip with friends. A version of 2022's Book Lovers is currently in development as well.
