Blumhouse, in collaboration with Atomic Monster and Kinetic Games Limited, will bring this chilling tale to the silver screen. Earlier this year, in July 2024, Blumhouse conducted a survey to categorize 100 prominent horror films from the past half-century into distinct subgenres. The results highlighted the paranormal subgenre as one of the 24 thriving subgenres, alongside others like survival, slasher, and psychological thriller.

At the inaugural The Business of Fear event, Blumhouse CEO and Founder Jason Blum, along with President Abhijay Prakash, Atomic Monster CEO and Founder James Wan, and horror analyst and author Stephen Follows, engaged in a fascinating discussion about the evolution and expansion of horror in recent years. They emphasized the significance of subgenres in catering to the diverse tastes of horror enthusiasts.

Blumhouse's recent releases have included films like "Drop," "The Woman in the Yard," "Wolf Man," "House of Spoils," "Speak No Evil," "Afraid," "Imaginary," "Night Swim," "Five Nights at Freddy's," and "The Exorcist: Believer," each leaving a lasting impression on audiences. Looking ahead, the studio's upcoming slate boasts titles such as "M3GAN 2.0" (June 27, 2025), "Black Phone 2" (October 17, 2025), and "Five Nights at Freddy's 2" (December 5, 2025), promising to scare and delight moviegoers with their unique and chilling narratives.
