We are pleased to confirm that Paramount Pictures has emerged victorious in an intense, multi-studio bidding war, securing the rights to Rebecca Ross's enchanting fantasy romance novel, "Divine Rivals." Sofia Alvarez, the talented scribe behind the first two installments of the "To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before" film series, adapted from Jenny Han's beloved books, will pen the script for this cinematic adaptation. Alvarez recently made her directorial debut with the Netflix film adaptation of Sarah Dessen's "Along for the Ride," starring Emma Pasarow and Belmont Cameli.

The inaugural book in the "Letters of Enchantment Series" debuted in April 2023, with its sequel, "Ruthless Vows," following suit in December of the same year. The film's captivating logline reads: "Amidst the lingering shadows of an ancient war waged by dueling deities, two rival journalists, locked in a fierce competition, unexpectedly find love through anonymous letters typed on an enchanted typewriter."

Lorenzo di Bonaventura, under his first-look deal with the studio, is producing the film alongside Pouya Shahbazian, whose credits include the "Divergent" (2014) and "Allegiant" (2016) films. Author Rebecca Ross herself will take on the role of executive producer.

The "Letters of Enchantment" series has reigned supreme on The New York Times bestsellers list for over 125 weeks, winning accolades at the Goodreads Choice Awards and selling over a million copies worldwide. Rebecca Ross's extensive works, which also encompass "A River Enchanted," "A Fire Endless," and "The Queen’s Resistance," have been translated into 27 languages. Her forthcoming novel, "A Wild Reverance," is set to release on September 2, 2025.
