Joining Dynevor in this aquatic adventure are the talented Whitney Peak and the esteemed Djimon Hounsou, under the visionary guidance of producers Adam McKay and Kevin Messick. 'Beneath the Storm' promises to be a cinematic showdown, squaring off against Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation's 'The Bad Guys 2,' which also premieres on the same day, coincidentally boasting an anthropomorphic shark as one of its lead characters. The animated sequel boasts an all-star voice cast, including Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, Awkwafina, and Zazie Beetz.

Wirkola, renowned for his daring directorial ventures such as 'Dead Snow,' 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters,' 'What Happened to Monday,' and the hilarious 'Violent Night,' continues to push boundaries with his latest animated feature 'Spermageddon,' which premiered to acclaim at the Annecy Animation Festival in June.

Dynevor, who soared to fame as the enchanting Daphne Bridgerton in Netflix's smash hit 'Bridgerton,' brings her magnetic charm to this new venture. Her impressive resume also includes recurring roles in 'Younger' and a lead performance opposite Alden Ehrenreich in the Sundance-acclaimed psychological thriller 'Fair Play,' which captivated audiences on Netflix last fall.

Hounsou, a Hollywood veteran, adds his formidable presence to the cast, with recent credits including 'Shazam! Fury of the Gods,' 'Gran Turismo,' Zack Snyder's ambitious 'Rebel Moon' series, and 'A Quiet Place: Day One.' Meanwhile, Peak, known for her roles in the 'Gossip Girl' reboot and 'Hocus Pocus 2,' brings a fresh energy to the film.

As Sony concludes the summer with a resounding bang through its hit romantic drama 'It Ends With Us,' starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, the adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel surpassed the $50 million mark in its opening weekend, setting the stage for even greater expectations from 'Beneath the Storm.'
