Robert Pattinson has revealed that production on Matt Reeves' highly anticipated sequel, *The Batman Part II*, is slated to commence towards the tail end of 2025. While gracing the London red carpet for the premiere of his latest film, *Mickey 17*, Pattinson engaged in a conversation with Deadline, sharing that while he couldn't divulge any specifics about the forthcoming movie's plot, he assured enthusiasts, "It's pretty awesome, let me tell you, it's really cool."
Acknowledging the film's postponement, Pattinson commented, "It feels like an eternity... everything seems so distant because COVID-19 essentially wiped out three years of our lives." His affirmation follows Warner Bros.' decision to push back the release date from October 2, 2026, to October 1, 2027. Earlier, at the Golden Globes, director Reeves had mentioned to Deadline that filming for *The Batman Part II* would commence sometime in 2025.
The sequel was officially announced at CinemaCon in April 2022, with Pattinson and Reeves reprising their roles alongside co-writer Mattson Tomlin. Other returning cast members include Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, and Colin Farrell. At Orlando's fan convention, MegaCon, Serkis expressed his excitement for the project, stating, "I'm just as eager for it as all of you. Matt [Reeves] told me the storyline for *The Batman 2*, and I couldn't have been more thrilled."
Reeves previously teased about the film, "We're crafting something that builds upon the narrative's origins and something I sincerely hope will astound audiences." Reeves' inaugural dark installment in the Batman franchise garnered nearly $800 million for Warner Bros., amassing mostly favorable reviews and earning three Oscar nominations.
Next up for Pattinson is the filming of Christopher Nolan's movie, *Odyssey*.
