A brand-new horror-comedy epic is poised to slice through the heart of Generation X culture with a razor-sharp wit. Director Todd Berger is at the helm of the satirical slasher film The Big Kill, brought to life by Live Nation Studios, with production recently kicking off, exclusively revealed by The Hollywood Reporter. This film pays homage to Gen X and is infused with the infectious rhythms of popular 1990s tunes.
The ensemble cast boasts genre favorites such as Skeet Ulrich (Five Nights at Freddy’s 2), Alicia Witt (Longlegs), Jolene (Star Trek: Enterprise), and Megan Suri (Companion). The comedic talent includes Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), Pete Holmes (Woman of the Hour), Natasha Leggero (The Do-Over), Morgan Jay (St. Denis Medical), Trevor Wallace (Drugstore June), and Steph Tolev (Tires).

The Big Kill revolves around a group of longtime friends and their families gathered at a remote cabin following a funeral. As a killer begins stalking the group, the friends are forced to confront the darkest aspects of their pasts.
Berger (It’s a Disaster) directs from a script penned by Emmy-winning Daily Show writer Daniel Radosh. Producers include Live Nation Studios and Mason Novick for MXN Entertainment, with Ryan Kroft executive producing for Live Nation Studios.
“Horror meets comedy, set to ’90s music—a resounding yes for Live Nation Studios,” says Kroft, head of film and television at Live Nation Studios. “With this fan-favorite cast and a phenomenal producing team, The Big Kill is destined to be a horror hit.”
Berger adds, “When I first saw Scream in the theater as a teenager, it blew me away because it was a slasher movie filled with people my own age, speaking the way we actually do. But over the years, I noticed something—the protagonists of slashers didn’t age like us. So now, to create a horror comedy about fellow Gen Xers with kids, mortgages, and existential dread, and to do it with a brilliantly witty script and an amazing cast—it’s a dream come true.”
Novick states, “Horror comedies are one of the toughest genres to master. It’s crucial to deliver both laughs and scares. We’re fortunate to have a cast that combines legacy horror actors with hilarious comedians, ensuring we have both great jokes and great kills.”
