Building upon the beloved 1937 animated masterpiece, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," this iteration delves deeper into Snow White's journey as she flees the murderous orders of her envious, wicked queen—her very own mother. In a desperate bid for survival, Snow White ventures into the heart of the forest, where she stumbles upon the whimsical haven of the seven dwarfs, nestled within a quaint cottage.

Following her sensational film debut in Steven Spielberg's "West Side Story," Zegler returns to the silver screen, ready to belt out her heart-wrenching tunes with unparalleled passion. Gadot, joined by an impressive cast including Andrew Burnap, Martin Klebba, and Ansu Kabia, takes on the role of the malevolent queen. The screenplay, penned by Greta Gerwig ("Barbie") and Erin Cressida Wilson ("The Girl on the Train"), promises a fresh yet faithful adaptation of the beloved tale.

The film has sparked considerable controversy over the past few years. In January 2022, Peter Dinklage voiced his criticism regarding the portrayal of dwarfs in the film, prompting Disney to issue a statement committing to consulting with the community. Subsequently, Zegler faced scrutiny from numerous right-wing groups for her remarks on the original story's heavy emphasis on Snow White's quest for love.

In an insightful interview with Variety, Zegler elaborated, "The love story undeniably constitutes a pivotal element. Many have mistakenly presumed its absence from our narrative – far from it; it has always been present, albeit not the focal point of our discussion on that particular day."

Scheduled for a theatrical release on March 21, 2025, the film promises to be a mesmerizing spectacle that honors the legacy of the iconic fairy tale while breathing new life into its cherished characters and themes.
