A fresh whisper has made the rounds regarding the enigmatic character of Sadie Sink in the upcoming Spider-Man 4. Although the Marvel Cinematic Universe's latest installment is still months away, the online chatter about its plot and cast has been rife, fueling fan interest like never before in what lies ahead for the web-slinger's next cinematic journey.
Rumors abound that the Department of Damage Control (DODC), a government agency within the MCU, is set to target and capture Sadie Sink's character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, only for Spider-Man to swoop in for the rescue. This nugget of information was shared by industry insider MyTimetoShineHello on X (formerly Twitter), who exclaimed, "The DODC has its sights set on Sadie Sink's character. They manage to reel her in, but Spider-Man comes to the rescue."

For those unfamiliar, the DODC first graced our screens in Spider-Man: Homecoming, where it was revealed to have been created by a collaboration between Tony Stark and the U.S. government. Its formation caused Adrian Toomes to lose his salvaging business, ultimately leading him down a path of crime as Vulture. Since then, the DODC has played a pivotal role in several MCU projects, including Spider-Man: No Way Home, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
While it remains unclear who Sadie Sink will be playing in Spider-Man 4, that hasn't stopped fans from speculating wildly about her potential role, with rumors swirling around characters like X-Men's Jean Grey, Punisher ally Rachel Cole-Alves, and Shathra. Notably, Sink has kept her lips sealed about her involvement in Brand New Day.
But Brand New Day isn't the only MCU project where we'll see Sadie Sink's character. Deadline reported last month that she'll be making an appearance in 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars as well.
The director of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Destin Daniel Cretton, recently took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message expressing his gratitude to the cast and crew for helping him bring this film to life. He called it "the biggest, most rewarding film [he has] ever been a part of."
With filming wrapped and Brand New Day set to swing into theaters on July 31, 2026, Cretton directed the film from a screenplay penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, both of whom have previously worked on MCU Spider-Man films. Michael Giacchino composed the film's music, while Brett Pawlak served as cinematographer.
Joining Sink in the film are Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Liza Colón-Zayas, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, and Marvin Jones III. Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo will also be seen reprising their roles as Frank Castle/Punisher and Bruce Banner/Hulk from previous MCU films/television shows.
