Miles Morales is set to swing back onto the big screen a week earlier than initially planned. "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse," the highly anticipated third chapter in Sony's animated web-slinging trilogy, has bumped up its release date to June 18, 2027. Previously slated for June 25, this Marvel adaptation will now hit theaters amidst the festive spirit of two holidays—Father's Day and Juneteenth.

Positioned strategically, "Spider-Verse" will debut just a week after Universal's live-action spectacle "How to Train Your Dragon 2" and will share its opening day with Disney's animated adventure "Gatto."

"Beyond the Spider-Verse" marks the grand finale of a trilogy that kicked off with the 2018 sensation "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" and continued its thrilling journey with 2023's "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse." The series revolves around Miles Morales, a Brooklyn high schooler who dons the mantle of Spider-Man and teams up with other Spider-People from parallel universes to safeguard New York City and other multiversal realms from a myriad of threats. While plot specifics for the third installment remain under wraps, it's safe to assume that Miles Morales will once again find himself at the heart of another gripping crisis.

"We've meticulously crafted what we believe to be an incredibly fulfilling conclusion, and we're eager for fans to immerse themselves in it," declared filmmakers Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson when they were announced as co-directors last year. "We're pouring everything we've got into this."

The "Spider-Verse" franchise has proven to be a box office juggernaut; the original film raked in a staggering $384 million globally and clinched the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. "Across the Spider-Verse" soared even higher, surpassing the entire box office haul of its predecessor in just 12 days of release and culminating in a worldwide gross of $690 million.
