Warner Bros. Discovery has secured the rights to "Accidentally Brave," a poignant drama headlined by Maddie Corman and helmed by none other than Steven Soderbergh as its producer. Acquiring both streaming and linear TV privileges for this film, directed by Kristin Hanggi from a script penned by Corman herself, Warner Bros. Discovery plans to introduce "Accidentally Brave" exclusively on Max starting February 1st, preceding its debut on HBO on February 6th.

Drawing inspiration from Corman's poignant off-Broadway solo performance, "Accidentally Brave" weaves a narrative about an actress whose serene life, encompassing three children and two decades of marital bliss, crumbles upon the revelation of her TV director/husband Jason “Jace” Alexander’s perilously concealed secret.

Amidst a maelstrom of overwhelming emotions, Corman’s tale of resilience unfolds with raw honesty and an unanticipated dash of humor. She embarks on a journey to rebuild her marriage and family, while grappling with the uncertain terrain of healing.

"My heartfelt intention for this piece was to offer solace, assistance, and a sense of purpose," Corman shared in a statement. "It stems from a wellspring of profound sorrow and an inconceivable solitude, coupled with an urgent need to illuminate the secrets that fester within us, to recount the tales that evoke fear, and to remind each other of the tender mercies that can slip in when our hearts are shattered open."

Backed by the Oscar-winning director Soderbergh through Extension 765, "Accidentally Brave" boasts executive producers Ken Meyer and Joseph Malloch, alongside co-executive producer Daryl Roth.

In his own statement, Soderbergh remarked, "The original production left me utterly spellbound, and I felt an urgent need to preserve it so that a wider audience could witness this unforgettable tale. My modest yet crucial contribution as a producer was to ensure the team that birthed this gem remained intact, safeguarding its authenticity and intensity. Indeed, as a film, it has only grown more intimate and emotionally charged."
