Warner Bros. has unveiled an exciting slate of release dates for its upcoming movies, including a DC superhero film, 'Mortal Kombat 2', and Zach Cregger's thriller 'Weapons'. Among these, the highly anticipated 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow' has been given a release date, signaling the studio's swift action to bring the film to the big screen.

The eagerly awaited movie, directed by Craig Gillespie, is set to take flight into cinemas on June 26, 2026. The announcement, made by DC and Warner Bros. on Tuesday, marks the second film to receive a release date since James Gunn and Peter Safran took the reins of DC Studios with the aim of rejuvenating the franchise. The first film to receive a release date under their leadership was 'Superman', which Gunn is currently filming for a July 2025 theatrical release.

'Supergirl' stars Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon) in the role of Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El. The film, penned by Ana Nogueira, is inspired by the comic series created by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, and promises to offer a fresh take on the character, deviating from the portrayal seen in the CW television series. According to insiders, filming for 'Supergirl' is expected to commence this fall.

In addition to 'Supergirl', Warner Bros. has also announced release dates for several other high-profile movies. Among them is 'Mortal Kombat 2', a sequel to the successful videogame adaptation, which is set to hit theaters on October 24, 2025. Directed by Simon McQuoid, the ensemble cast includes Karl Urban, Adeline Rudolph, Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Tadanobu Asano, Mehcad Brooks, Ludi Lin, Damon Herriman, Tati Gabrielle, and Martyn Ford, along with Chin Han, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyuki Sanada.

The year 2025 will kick off with the release of 'Companion', a sci-fi thriller produced by Zach Cregger and directed by Drew Hancock. The film stars Jack Quaid and Sophie Thatcher, along with Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén, and Rupert Friend.

The same maverick producing horror team behind 'Companion' and last year's hit 'Barbarian' is also responsible for 'Weapons', another exciting addition to Warner Bros.' line-up. Directed by Cregger, the film stars an ensemble cast including Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan. 'Weapons' is set to open in theaters on January 16, 2026.

Lastly, Warner Bros. has announced the release date for the animated holiday movie 'Margie Claus', scheduled to hit the big screen on November 5, 2027. Melissa McCarthy will lend her voice to the titular role and is producing the film alongside her husband and producing partner Ben Falcone and Pilar Flynn.

With these exciting announcements, Warner Bros. and DC Studios are gearing up to deliver a slate of diverse and thrilling movies that are sure to captivate audiences worldwide.
