After her powerhouse performance in Amazon MGM Studios' high-octane action flick G20, Viola Davis is reuniting with the streaming giant for a mesmerizing conspiracy thriller titled Ally Clark. Helming this edge-of-your-seat narrative will be Phillip Noyce, a seasoned thriller veteran whose credits include Clear and Present Danger, Salt, and Rabbit Proof Fence. The film will be produced by Irwin Winkler, the legendary producer behind cinematic icons such as Rocky, Goodfellas, and The Alto Knights. Joining Winkler in the producer's chair are Charlies Winker and David Winkler of Winkler Films, along with Jose Ruisanchez. Davis herself will also don the producer's hat, alongside her husband and JuVee Productions co-founder Julius Tennon.
The screenplay, penned by Ruisanchez and Winkler, revolves around Ally Clark, a relentless investigator portrayed by Davis. According to the studio, Clark embarks on a treacherous quest to unravel the mysteries surrounding an international conglomerate, following the mysterious demise of a dear friend. Her journey will traverse the grand marble halls of Washington, D.C., plunge into the steaming bayous of Louisiana, and scale the icy peaks of Alaska.
Currently in the development phase, the project boasts Melanie Clark of JuVee Productions as executive producer. Davis' recent outing in G20 proved to be a resounding success for Amazon's Prime Video, debuting at the top of Nielsen's movie chart with a staggering 516 million minutes streamed in its opening week. Not only did Davis star in the film, but her JuVee banner also produced it, showcasing its commitment to developing and producing a socially relevant entertainment library with a strong emphasis on inclusion and amplifying the voices of the marginalized.
Davis, an EGOT winner adorned with an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, and multiple Tony Awards, is represented by CAA and Lasher Group.
