An actor who graced the screens of "Blue Bloods," "Power," and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" now faces the harrowing prospect of spending the remainder of his days behind bars, following his conviction for the 2021 murder of a New York City resident. According to a March 10th press release issued by the Queens District Attorney’s Office, after a fortnight-long trial, 45-year-old Isaiah Stokes was adjudged guilty of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Tyrone Jones.
Prosecutors revealed that Stokes harbored resentment towards Jones since October 2020, when the victim ejected him from a birthday celebration amidst a fracas at a Queens club. This grim saga took a lethal turn on January 29, 2021, when Stokes surreptitiously affixed a GPS tracking device beneath Jones' vehicle, employing it to stalk his intended target the subsequent week.
On the fateful afternoon of February 7, 2021, Stokes alighted from a parked SUV and wandered around the vicinity for approximately 15 minutes before drawing a firearm and unleashing 11 bullets into Jones' car. Jones, who was awaiting a friend inside the vehicle, was struck multiple times in the head and chest, as recounted by prosecutors. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Subsequently, Stokes drove the SUV back to his Rego Park, Queens apartment and, later that afternoon, returned it to a rental facility in Hackensack, New Jersey, as per the release. Melinda Katz, the Queens District Attorney, described the fatal shooting as a "premeditated murder," emphasizing that Stokes was "bent on复仇."
"The defendant, a part-time actor who had been featured in television shows since the mid-2000s, including an episode of 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' in 2009, as well as episodes of 'Boardwalk Empire,' 'Power,' 'Blue Bloods,' and 'The Mysteries of Laura,' seethed with anger for months after being ejected from a birthday party due to his own inappropriate behavior," Katz stated.
Moreover, Stokes, who records and performs music under the moniker I$AIAH, according to his IMDB page, is slated to be sentenced on March 21. Prosecutors revealed that he could face a maximum penalty of 25 years to life in prison.
