Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin Respond to Relationship Critics With Pinocchio Video

Alec Baldwin finds himself somewhat entangled in the spotlight these days. It has been three months since the "30 Rock" actor and his spouse, Hilaria Baldwin, faced a wave of criticism stemming from a red carpet interview where she seemingly reprimanded him for cutting her off. In response, a savvy social media user crafted a meme depicting the 41-year-old Hilaria as a puppeteer orchestrating her husband's every move with meticulous control. Intrigued by the concept, the Yoga Vida founder decided to embrace the idea with a touch of humor.

On June 2, the couple shared an Instagram video with the whimsical tune from "Pinocchio's" "When You Wish Upon a Star" playing softly in the background. Hilaria, clad in a lush green dress, perched herself atop a chair and leaned over Alec, 67, who sat in another chair, his arms flailing up and down in mock marionette fashion. "Well, folks, you've given me an idea," quipped Hilaria in the caption, who tied the knot with Alec in 2012. "I just couldn't resist giving it a try."

This isn't the first time the duo has used humor to deflect criticism about their relationship. Following their controversial red carpet moment in March, Hilaria and Alec, parents to Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 7, Eduardo, 4, María, 4, and Ilaria, 2, decided to set the record straight with a light-hearted video. As they mouthed the words to an audio clip from the interview, Hilaria playfully asked Alec, "And what do we call that? What's the word of the day?"

Alec, who is also father to Ireland, 29, from his previous relationship with Kim Basinger, responded with a grin, "Manterrupting." Joking that the term could be either "positive" or "negative," she turned the camera to her husband, who added, tongue-in-cheek, "It could be a case of 'correctile dysfunction.'" Before their children burst in, banging on the bedroom door and shouting for "mommy," Hilaria sought to squash the rumors swirling around their relationship once and for all. "The whole point," she said, "is that we interrupt each other all the time, or sometimes our kids do."

In another Instagram video, Hilaria nestled into bed with her husband and whispered, "I've had numerous women tell me they'd treat me better than I treat you—do you want to make a change?" Playing along with the joke, Alec responded, "Yeah, I think this isn't working."

As for why the interview with "Extra" at the grand opening of Planet Hollywood left so many viewers believing that Hilaria was "horrible" to Alec and "very rude," her reaction to his interruption while discussing a potential second season of their TLC reality series, "The Baldwins," was pretty straightforward. "Oh my god, when I'm talking, you're not talking," Hilaria firmly stated to Alec during the interview. "No, when I'm talking, you're not talking."
