Taime Downe has opened up about his profound grief in a candid manner. The vocalist of Faster Pussycat finally spoke out after his fiancée, Kimberly Burch, was presumed deceased following an alleged fall from a cruise ship in March, aged 56. During an interview on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk" on May 30, Downe, quoted by Blabbermouth, likened his emotions to a rollercoaster ride. "I'm hanging in there, taking it one day at a time," he shared.
The 60-year-old musician revealed that he had decided to embark on a tour, believing that music would serve as a powerful therapeutic outlet. "Everyone believed that hitting the road, doing what I do best, and being surrounded by my band family would be beneficial for me," Downe expressed. "I'll get to see countless fans and friends across the country. It's something I think will truly help." He added, fingers crossed, that this experience might aid in his healing process. "I hope so. I'm just going to do what I love with the people I cherish," he continued. "I believe it can only be therapeutic."
Although Downe is willing to share his feelings with his fans through his music, he prefers to keep the specifics of Burch's passing private. "I don't feel comfortable discussing it with strangers; it just doesn't seem fitting," he admitted. "It is what it is."
In March, Burch's mother, Carnell, informed TMZ that her daughter was presumed dead after embarking on a seven-day Royal Caribbean cruise from Miami on March 2. Downe had contacted her, informing her that Burch had fallen overboard during the '80s-themed voyage. A spokesperson for Royal Caribbean Group told TMZ at the time, "Our crew immediately initiated a search and rescue mission, collaborating with local authorities, and we are offering support and assistance to the guest's family during this challenging period. Respecting the privacy of our guest's family, we have no further details to disclose."
In his recent interview, Downe also alleged that Burch's death was linked to "alcohol and prescription drugs."
