Amanda Seyfried Thought Timothée Chalamet’s Shoutout to Kylie Jenner Was for an Actual Foundation

Amanda Seyfried misunderstood the reference of Timothée Chalamet in his Best Actor acceptance speech at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards. The actress, who was not entirely clear on what the Marty Supreme star was referring to when he thanked his "partner of three years," has now clarified her confusion.

After Timothée concluded his speech by looking at his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, and saying, "Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn't do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart," Amanda revealed that she initially thought he was referencing a charity partnership. She commented on Evan Ross Katz's Jan. 4 Instagram post about the moment, "OH not like a foundation/charity." She added, "I was curious about that."

Amanda's confusion wasn't the only notable reaction on social media to Timmy's speech. Timothée's mother, Nicole Flander, shared a video of her son's speech from her television that she posted to Instagram on Jan. 4 and exclaimed, "My son just won the Critics Choice Award for best actor!!" While Timothée's shoutout to Kylie marked the first public acknowledgment of their otherwise private relationship, Nicole had previously expressed her support for their romance. In an interview with Curbed published in April, she said of Kylie, "She’s lovely. She’s very nice to me."

The 67-year-old mother of Lady Bird star and Pauline Chalamet, 33, with Marc Chalamet, may be privy to her son's relationship but prefers to give her children space as they navigate the world more independently. As she quipped, "Would you like your mom to be trailing you everywhere? I like being able to go visit them." Indeed, the New Yorker now has a place to visit her son on the West Coast, with Timmy having bought a Beverly Hills mansion last year reportedly for $11 million—not that he asked her for permission before making such a large purchase. "Did he ask for my advice? No," she admitted, laughing. "He said, 'Guess what? I bought a house.'"
