Amanda Seyfried has secured her next captivating TV endeavor, set to star in and executive produce 'Skinny Dip,' an adaptation of Carl Hiaasen's novel that's now in the pipeline at Prime Video, following its initial development at HBO Max. The dramedy, hailing from Warner Bros. TV and the creative minds of Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis (known for their work on 'Once Upon a Time'), boasts an impressive executive producer in Bill Lawrence.

The shift of 'Skinny Dip' to Prime Video, as sources hint, was fueled by Amazon's streamer making a substantial offer. The show's synopsis promises a whirlwind ride: "In 'Skinny Dip,' Joey Perrone's second wedding anniversary doesn't go according to plan. Anticipating a heartfelt gift of earrings, she instead discovers her husband Chaz has, shall we say, different ideas. Finding herself unexpectedly on the other side of these unexpected plans, she vows to seek revenge. Partnering with a disgraced ex-cop, Joey embarks on a journey to make Chaz pay. 'Skinny Dip' is an action-romantic-comedy-triangle that delves into the world of murder, vengeance, and the elusive nature of true accountability."
If it makes it to series, 'Skinny Dip' will be the third show based on one of Hiaasen's novels to grace TV screens in recent years. Lawrence created and executive produces Apple TV's 'Bad Monkey,' starring Vince Vaughn, and ABC has RJ Decker (based on Double Whammy) set to premiere sometime next year.
Seyfried, who will next be seen in 'The Housemaid' and 'The Testament of Ann Lee,' both hitting theaters in December, won an Emmy for her role as Elizabeth Holmes in 'The Dropout' at Hulu. Her other recent credits include 'Long Bright River' at Peacock and 'The Crowded Room' at Apple TV. Horowitz and Kitsis are represented by WME and attorney Jared Levine.
