At the glittering 2026 Golden Globe Awards, Amy Poehler and Joel Lovell embarked on a truly special date night. As they arrived hand-in-hand at the 83rd annual ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 11th, Lovell stood proudly by the comedian's side as she won the inaugural Best Podcast award for Good Hang with Amy Poehler. In her acceptance speech, Poehler took a moment to give a heartfelt shoutout to her beau.

"I don't know much about award shows, but when they get it right, it makes perfect sense," Poehler quipped, before gushing over Lovell: "I love you. Thank you for everything." She later took a playful jab at NPR, saying, "I just want to say that I know I'm new to this game. I have great respect for this form. I have great respect for all the people that I'm nominated with. I'm a big fan of all of you, except for NPR, just a bunch of celebs phoning it in. So try harder."
The Parks and Recreation alum, who was nominated against Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Call Her Daddy, The Mel Robbins Podcast, Up First, and SmartLess (co-hosted by her ex-husband Will Arnett), also explained that her show is "an attempt to try to make a very rough and unkind world filled with a little bit more love and laughter and laughing with people, not at them."
"And we just have such a good time making it. And thank you so much for letting us make more," she concluded, joking that her parents "can watch the Patriots now."
PEOPLE first confirmed Poehler and Lovell's relationship in October 2024, when a source revealed that they began dating over the summer. Lovell was previously a deputy editor at The New York Times Magazine but left the position in 2014 to transition into podcasting.
The couple made their red carpet debut in March at the 2025 Oscars. At the Vanity Fair Oscar Party later that night, Poehler reflected on the event and made a rare comment referring to Lovell as her date.
"I had the trifecta tonight, which never happens," she explained. "I just wanna say, I liked how I looked, which never happens—you know what, I want to be one of the greatest! "I want to be the Michael Jordan of this party," she continued, completing her list of the three things that went well: "I liked how I looked, I had fun with my date, and my feet don't hurt."
