Anthony Anderson fell prey to a harrowing home invasion, as authorities confirmed to NBC Los Angeles that three individuals forcibly entered the "Black-ish" actor's Encino residence on May 18th, at approximately 11 p.m. Police remain unsure about whether any valuables were stolen, according to reports. While law enforcement officials verified that the targeted house belonged to Anderson, who co-parents two adult children, Kyra, 28, and Nathan, 25, with his ex-partner Alvina Stewart, they refrained from disclosing whether anyone was present during the intrusion. The probe into this distressing incident is still underway, and no arrests have been made in connection to the case, authorities informed NBC Los Angeles. E! News has sought additional input from Anderson's representative and the police but has yet to receive a response.
Anderson is not an isolated celebrity facing such a harrowing ordeal recently. In fact, athletes such as Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, and Joe Burrow have also been victims of home burglaries in 2024. In February, seven Chilean nationals were apprehended for their involvement in these athletes' burglaries, with authorities estimating the loss of property worth over $2 million from the footballers' homes. Back in the late 2000s, a notorious group dubbed the "Bling Ring," comprised of then-teenagers Rachel Lee, Nick Prugo, Alexis Neiers, Courtney Ames, and Diana Tamyo, embarked on a spree of hollywood home robberies, stealing approximately $3 million worth of belongings and cash from the residences of Rachel Bilson, Paris Hilton, Audrina Patridge, and numerous other stars between 2008 and 2009.
Bilson herself recently recounted a conversation she had with Neiers and Tamyo during a 2022 podcast appearance, over a decade after the robberies. "I'm old enough and past it enough to say, you were just kids," Bilson reflected. "If you want to talk about it, fine. I'm not gonna dismiss it lightly, but I'm not gonna be harsh on you. It was more like, 'Sure, go ahead. That's fine.' You were kids, but it was incredibly messed up. There's no way around that." Similarly, Patridge elaborated on the repercussions of her own home invasion in a 2022 Netflix documentary titled "The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist." "After my house was broken into, I was terrified to the core—the most frightened I've ever been in my life," she confessed.
