Avatar: Fire and Ash is dominating the box office with the full Na'vi force, fueled by the determination of its visionary director, James Cameron, who shares his plan B if the film doesn't reach the billion-dollar success threshold. Not only has it experienced a smaller drop than its predecessor, The Way of Water, in its second week, but it has also amassed a staggering $64 million, pushing its domestic total to $217 million. With an additional $181 million from overseas markets, Avatar: Fire and Ash has now grossed a grand total of $760 million. Despite these impressive numbers, the latest installment still has a long way to go.

This is because James Cameron previously stated that the future of the franchise hinges on Fire and Ash becoming a true mega-hit. Should the worst-case scenario unfold and the film fail to achieve the financial success of a billion-dollar series, the filmmaker has revealed his alternative plan. "I don't know if the saga will continue beyond this point. I hope it does. But you know, we always prove our business case every time we hit the screens... If for whatever reason we don't get to make 4 and 5, I'll hold a press conference and I'll tell you what we were going to do. How's that for a surprise?" James earlier told EW.
Beyond this press conference option, Cameron has another creative idea: turning the scripts of the fourth and fifth installments into novels. "There's so much culture, backstory, and intricate detail in these characters that have been meticulously crafted. I would love to do something at that level of granular detail."
Avatar: Fire and Ash is currently playing in theatres, igniting the imaginations of audiences worldwide.
